Technical Sales Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new prospects for industrial gas usage in operations, equipment, and end markets, focusing on growth markets and priority geographies.
• Analyze prospects' and customers' processes to identify new or more efficient applications of industrial gases. Diagnose and troubleshoot process and equipment issues in customer facilities.
• Demonstrate application technologies in customer facilities, showcasing the benefits of industrial gases in various processes. Work closely with customer operations staff during trials and start-ups.
• Provide feedback to subsegment business development and global research and development teams regarding industry needs (economic, regulatory, process flexibility, etc.).
• Guide the development of new applications.
• Work with customers and internal teams in advanced technology, computational modeling, and marketing to develop technical papers and materials showcasing modeling or lab/field demonstrations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and fabricators to ensure timely quotations and proposals, enabling prompt responses to customer deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering or a related field. A Diploma with over five years of experience in a process engineering role will be considered.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the metals or chemical processing industry, preferably in process engineering within steel, non-ferrous, glass, chemical, petrochemical, and general manufacturing industries.
• Technical sales experience.
• Ability to work proactively and effectively across functions and levels, both internally and externally.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, factual, and relevant written information.
• Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).
• Tech-savvy and proficient in modeling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
