Job Overview:
The Cost Controller is responsible for managing all manufacturing costs, including material, machine, manpower, and overall production expenses. This role oversees cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and transfer pricing while collaborating with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate cost data and financial reporting. The position also focuses on cost optimization and process efficiency, providing insights for cost-saving initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Control and optimize material, machine, manufacturing, and manpower costs across the entire production process.
- Collaboration with Finance/Accounting: Work closely with Finance/Accounting teams to analyze cost data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Cost Data Collection & Reporting: Gather cost data and prepare reports for Finance and Commercial teams, including monthly cost and financial performance reports.
- Material Cost Analysis: Analyze material costs and collaborate with procurement to ensure compliance with contract terms and monitor retroactive discount refunds.
- Product Cost Analysis: Analyze product costs and excise tax calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Profitability Analysis: Summarize and analyze profit margins by product model, identifying opportunities for cost savings and margin improvements.
- Cost Optimization: Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to improve process efficiency and reduce costs across operations, logistics, and procurement.
- Budget & Forecasting: Monitor cost savings, track budgets, and manage forecasts to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Audit Support: Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Experience: 5-7 years in cost control or financial management within manufacturing, with a focus on cost analysis, budgeting, and transfer pricing.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of cost structures in manufacturing and experience with transfer pricing practices.
- Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost reporting.
- Software Skills: Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Excel (Advanced), and financial software.
- Knowledge: Understanding and knowledge of BOM (Bill of Materials), manufacturing costs, accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead cost-saving initiatives.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English.
