As we expand our operations with the establishment of a new plant, we seek a Lean Manager to ensure that our production processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with our commitment to excellence.
Job Summary:
The Lean Manager for turn around old facility & manufacturing processes which similar to new plant setup be instrumental in designing and implementing lean manufacturing processes tailored for the new facility. This role requires a candidate with proven experience in successfully setting up manufacturing plants, focusing on maximizing the operational Excellence system into the real practice on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
● Plant Design & Layout: Lead the development of the plant layout to optimize workflow and minimize waste. Collaborate with all support function teams to ensure that the design supports lean practices.
● Process Mapping: Conduct detailed value stream mapping and process assessments to identify current and future state processes, ensuring alignment with lean principles.
● Lean Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive lean implementation plan tailored to the new plant, including the introduction of lean tools and methodologies such as MIFA [Material information flow diagram], MIFD [Material information flow analysis].
● Regular Training & Development: Design and deliver training programs for employees at all levels to instill lean principles and practices, ensuring engagement and understanding across the workforce.
● Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams during the setup phase, facilitating collaboration between departments to ensure seamless integration of lean practices.
● Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to lean initiatives, providing regular reports to management on progress and areas for further improvement.
● Continuous Improvement Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee participation in lean initiatives and recognizing contributions to efficiency gains.
● Industry Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in lean manufacturing to drive innovation and competitiveness in the new plant.
● Ensures each department is utilizing lean tools and methodology [e.g EHS basic, Manufacturing basic, inventory & Delivery basic, Maintenance basic etc. to seek out opportunities and operational improvement [e.g. Lead time, scrap, downtime, waste elimination etc.]
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
● Proven experience in successfully setting up new manufacturing plants, with a focus on implementing lean methodologies.
● Strong knowledge of lean tools and methodologies and their application in a
manufacturing environment.
● Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, driving cultural change and engagement.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
