Resonsibilities:
- Quickly address production issues using a first principles approach, creating and executing a recommended action plan with internal team members and support staff at the contract manufacturer (CM).
- Make modifications to a test system to enhance gauge repeatability and reproducibility.
- Prioritize factory activities through systematic reviews of yield data, statistical process control, and test system performance.
- Audit supplier production processes to identify and mitigate risk areas.
- Provide feedback to suppliers on improvement opportunities and conduct follow-up on-site visits to observe progress.
- Plan and implement line improvements to enhance capacity in bottleneck processes.
- Monitor cycle times and support manufacturing cost negotiations.
- Collaborate with the CM team to reduce wasteful actions on the production line by optimizing movements, station layouts, or automation.
Requirements:
- Senior-level Production Engineer with over 5 years of experience.
- Experience in the production of electro-mechanical products is preferred.
- Willingness to be based at the main production facility for real-time oversight and travel to other locations in Asia, estimated at 15-20% of your time.
- Previous experience in analyzing production data and applying statistical process control methods.
- Confident in implementing production quality standards and manufacturing best practices, including ISO, IPC standards, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable assembly processes and test systems for high-volume electro-mechanical products.
- Familiarity with a wide range of production processes, including electronics assembly (SMT, through-hole soldering), final assembly, production data and test frameworks (WaterProof Testing for electronic device) and production reliability testing (burn-in tests, Highly Accelerated Stress Screening).
- Experience in mechanical parts manufacturing (injection molding) is desirable.
