Job Description:

  • Generates innovative ideas for future retail activities to maintain a cutting-edge strategy, staying updated on market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
  • Influences and supports the retail aspect of the annual budget process, ensuring understanding and buy-in from the operations team.
  • Regularly reviews financial data and provides realistic input into sales budgets.
  • Ensures systems are in place for the Retail team to receive timely information.
  • Makes decisions on day-to-day retail operations within their designated area, including strategic planning of resources.
  • Oversees the Operations team and Store Excellence & Atrium Event Sales team.
  • Translates strategic goals into retail operational plans to achieve targeted growth in sales and profit. Identifies and optimizes promotional opportunities, ensuring alignment with broader promotions and campaigns.
  • Ensures all new shop proposals meet the required return on sales before submitting recommendations to the Managing Director.
  • Visits all new shop locations to ensure they will trade effectively and meet proposed budgets.
  • Spends time in shops with retail teams and customers to understand and identify business-critical issues, ensuring alignment of tactics and strategies.
  • Accountable for maintaining high standards of retail excellence in all stores. Leads, coaches, and motivates retail staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving set targets.
  • Works with the HR team to resolve people management issues and ensure adherence to relevant HR policies and procedures. Chairs disciplinary, grievance, capability hearings, and appeals as required.
  • Performs any other ad hoc duties as assigned.


Job Requirement:

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in retail operation preferably in fashion or sport industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Retail Management, Business or equivalent.
  • Possesses strong commercial acumen with a thorough understanding of profit and loss accounting, and the impact of operational factors such as volume versus price.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of increasing and sustaining sales growth and profitability, even in challenging market conditions like the current economic climate.
  • Effectively manage day-to-day Operations.
  • Knowledge of Store operations management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills include report writing and group presentation and outgoing.
  • A collaborative team player - concerned with the team success as well as individual performance.
  • Visible Leadership skills - can motivate others to achieve.
  • Effectively manage day-to-day Operations.
  • Able to withstand retail working hours and work on weekends and public holidays.
