The Senior Process Excellence & Industrial Engineering (IE) Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring operational efficiency within an organization. This role involves applying industrial engineering principles, process improvement methodologies, and data analytics to drive continuous improvement across the business. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for performance improvements, cost reductions, and process streamlining.
Job Responsibilities:
Process Improvement:
- Lead and implement process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas of waste.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to enhance the quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of operations.
Process Optimization & Standardization:
- Design and standardize work processes and procedures to enhance overall efficiency.
- Develop and implement best practices for production lines, assembly processes, and other manufacturing operations.
- Identify and introduce automation and technology to optimize operations where applicable.
Capacity Planning & Resource Management:
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure the manufacturing process can meet production demands.
- Assist in resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize workflow and reduce downtime.
Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute process improvement projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure that projects are in line with organizational objectives and support long-term strategic goals.
- Use project management tools and techniques to track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
Training & Development:
- Provide training to team members and staff on new processes, tools, and techniques.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through workshops and coaching for engineers and operators.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all process improvements adhere to industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Health & Safety teams to ensure safe and compliant working environments during process modifications.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Collaborate with various departments such as production, supply chain, quality control, and R&D to improve overall operations.
- Work with engineering, procurement, and maintenance teams to enhance process efficiencies.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt), or other process improvement methodologies are highly preferred.
- Min. 5 years of experience with Automotive manufacturer in process improvement.
- Strong experience in leading Lean or Six Sigma projects and working with cross-functional teams.
