Job Summary:
The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the company's financial and accounting functions, providing comprehensive business analysis, and supporting the General Manager in evaluating the business's financial health. This role involves overseeing daily financial operations, monitoring business performance, and preparing reports for senior management. The Finance & Accounting Manager also ensures that the company maintains sound financial processes and adheres to all financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring all financial operations meet regulatory requirements.
- Lead financial reporting for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.
- Business Performance Analysis:
- Provide the General Manager with regular business insights, including financial performance, trends, and growth opportunities.
- Analyze financial data, including profit and loss, cash flow, and business performance metrics.
- Support decision-making by providing detailed financial analysis and recommendations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation of the company's annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and prepare reports to highlight key deviations.
- Adjust financial forecasts based on business trends and performance to ensure the company meets its financial targets.
- Financial Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and cost accounting.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting tasks.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate working capital for operations.
- Business Strategy & Decision Support:
- Partner with the General Manager to assess and evaluate business strategies and opportunities for growth.
- Develop financial models to support business initiatives and evaluate the financial impact of strategic decisions.
- Provide insights and data to support operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Management Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports to the General Manager and senior management.
- Participate in management meetings to discuss the financial health and performance of the business.
- Ensure that financial reports are clear and actionable, with relevant KPIs and metrics for business decision-making.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage an accounting team of 3 people (Senior Accountant & GL, AR & Collection, AP & Cost).
- Develop and mentor the accounting team to ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment to achieve financial objectives.
Key Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Over 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and Business Controller roles, with hands-on experience in financial reporting and business analysis.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office.
- Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing small accounting teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
