Job Summary: The General Manager (GM) will oversee the operations of a canned food export brokerage business, as well as transportation and storage services. This position requires the ability to manage activities related to freight forwarding and brokerage services effectively while ensuring operational efficiency and strategic growth. The GM will lead multiple departments, including Sales, Logistics, Packaging, Quality Control (QC), and Finance, ensuring seamless coordination across all functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth in the canned food export brokerage and transportation sectors.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations in freight forwarding and brokerage services.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including Sales, Logistics, Packaging, QC, and Finance, ensuring effective collaboration and goal alignment.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports to support decision-making and drive profitability.
- Negotiate effectively with manufacturers and packers to achieve favorable terms and maintain strong partnerships.
- Monitor and optimize operational processes to meet company goals and client expectations.
- Identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Cultivate and maintain a productive work environment through strong leadership and the ability to manage and motivate subordinates effectively.
- Develop and enforce company policies and standards to maintain operational excellence.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to set business objectives and long-term goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and operational metrics.
Job Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a senior management role, with a background in the food industry or consumer products.
- Proven expertise in financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams across multiple departments.
- Excellent negotiation skills, especially with manufacturers and packers.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate subordinates effectively.
