The Head of Risk/Chief Risk Officer will oversee and execute all aspects of the organization's risk management function. This includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk frameworks, tools, and strategies to ensure effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across a dynamic and growing loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of processes, systems, and tools for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks associated with the company's loan portfolio.
- Develop and enhance credit administration, debt management, and risk mitigation frameworks to support sustainable portfolio growth.
- Analyze portfolio performance, collaborating with product and technology teams to design, test, and launch loan products that are market optimized.
- Coordinate closely with the regional team to adapt risk algorithms and strategies to align with the local business and regulatory context in Thailand.
- Identify innovative surrogate data sources to enhance risk assessment algorithms, promoting the adoption of machine learning models, automated risk-based pricing, and evaluation processes.
- Oversee in-house credit evaluation functions, including risk algorithms, credit scoring models, underwriting processes, and collection strategies, while establishing key performance metrics (KPIs).
- Foster strong relationships with external credit-related entities, such as credit bureaus, government regulators, and industry associations.
- Assess critical credit and business risks, providing data-driven recommendations to refine credit strategies and collection approaches.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with a strong preference for experience in SME or retail risk management within financial institutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in credit risk, compliance, and operational risk management. Experience with SEC-related compliance is a plus.
- Proven ability to develop and implement risk processes, policies, and controls.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to make strategic decisions.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities simultaneously with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Thai and English.
