Position Overview: The Head of Travel for the golf industry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf-related travel services, including tour packages, partnerships with golf courses and resorts, customer experiences, and business development. This leadership role involves managing a team, developing new travel programs, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to golf enthusiasts. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement travel strategies that align with company goals.
- Identify emerging trends in the golf tourism industry and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Establish and manage partnerships with golf courses, resorts, hotels, and other related services.
- Business Development:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders in the golf industry, including tour operators, golf associations, and travel agents.
- Explore new business opportunities in golf events, travel experiences, and partnerships.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, hotels, and travel service providers.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee day-to-day travel operations, ensuring a seamless booking and travel experience for clients.
- Manage customer service and troubleshoot issues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop pricing strategies and manage travel budgets.
- Marketing & Sales:
- Lead promotional campaigns to attract new clients to golf travel packages.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create brochures, websites, and social media content targeting golf travelers.
- Monitor sales performance and work to increase revenue through innovative programs and packages.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of travel consultants and operations staff.
- Provide training on golf travel products and service delivery.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-end golf travelers, VIP clients, and corporate groups.
- Manage feedback from customers and incorporate insights into travel offerings.
- Organize and oversee exclusive golf events and group travel experiences.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry, with a focus on golf or luxury travel.
- Proven track record in business development, partnership management, and team leadership.
- Strong background in managing travel operations, logistics, and customer service.
- Golf Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of the golf industry, including famous courses, tournaments, and golf resorts globally.
- Passion for golf and experience with organizing golf-related events or trips is highly preferred.
