Job Description:
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Lafarge environmental policies, and ISO 14001 standards by conducting regular audits.
- Provide recommendations on addressing non-compliances and implementing measures to improve environmental performance.
- Analyze safety data, document workplace incidents, and develop corrective action plans.
- Maintain workplace safety standards to prevent lost-time injuries and mitigate health risks for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Continuously review and stay updated on safety regulations and policies, ensuring timely audits and implementation of corrective measures.
- Record and monitor action items from safety meetings to ensure follow-through.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly and annual OH&S reports and oversee budget management.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections to ensure strict adherence to EH&S protocols.
- Facilitate external audits and ensure organizational compliance.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on OH&S-related concerns.
- Design and deliver induction programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, covering essential site safety procedures.
- Manage workplace accidents, assess risks, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee rehabilitation programs to minimize downtime and support injured personnel effectively.
- Ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations, oversee reclamation processes, and reduce offsite waste generation.
- Train employees to achieve performance objectives and adapt to organizational needs.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), ideally within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) with proven experience in audits and compliance.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and engaging external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for professional reporting and communication.
- Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with safety management software is a plus.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities for identifying risks and delivering practical solutions.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising attention to detail or quality.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
- Willingness to travel to various sites or facilities as needed.
