Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's maintenance department, ensuring that all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, are functioning efficiently.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the long-term functionality of equipment and facilities. Schedule routine inspections and repairs.
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools to complete their tasks. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Budgeting and Inventory: Manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for repairs and upgrades. Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and equipment.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all maintenance work complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects. Evaluate and select contractors, negotiate pricing, and ensure that work is completed to specifications.
  • Energy Management: Monitor and optimize energy usage within the hotel to minimize costs. Implement energy-saving initiatives where possible.
  • Guest Room and Public Area Maintenance: Ensure that guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities are well-maintained, promptly addressing any maintenance issues to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the response to emergency maintenance issues, such as power outages, plumbing failures, or HVAC malfunctions, to ensure minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to hotel management on the status of maintenance work, upcoming projects, and budgetary needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage departments to coordinate maintenance tasks and address any issues that may impact operations or guest experiences.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hotel maintenance or a related industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Certifications: HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications are a plus. OSHA safety certification or similar is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
