Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening Preparation:
- Oversee the planning, development, and set-up of the Onsen & Spa facilities.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that all aspects of the spa are designed, equipped, and functional according to brand standards.
- Develop and implement spa operating procedures, service standards, and protocols.
- Source, hire, and train the Onsen & Spa team, ensuring all staff are aligned with the brand's culture and values.
Operations Management:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Onsen & Spa, ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatments and services.
- Manage the daily operations of the Onsen, spa treatments, wellness programs, and fitness offerings.
- Monitor the quality of services provided by spa staff, ensuring consistency and high guest satisfaction.
- Develop and update treatment menus, ensuring they reflect the latest wellness trends and meet the expectations of guests.
- Ensure that all spa and onsen facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
Guest Experience:
- Create memorable, personalized guest experiences by anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
- Resolve any guest concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Develop spa packages, promotions, and special offerings to drive business and enhance the guest experience.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of spa therapists, receptionists, and support staff.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions on product knowledge, customer service, and safety standards.
- Foster a positive, cooperative, and professional team culture.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the Onsen & Spa's annual budget, ensuring revenue targets are met and costs are controlled.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as spa revenue, guest satisfaction scores, and staff performance.
- Optimize operational efficiency and profitability while maintaining high standards of service and guest experience.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the Onsen & Spa offerings through various channels, including digital marketing, in-house promotions, and partnerships.
- Assist in creating marketing collateral, including brochures, website content, and social media campaigns.
- Monitor competitor offerings and trends in the wellness industry to ensure the spa remains competitive and relevant.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Spa Management, or a related field.
- Certification or formal training in wellness, spa, or onsen management is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in spa or wellness management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a luxury hotel or resort.
- Strong background in pre-opening hotel operations and project management is highly preferred.
- Experience in managing high-end Onsen or Japanese-style spa facilities is a significant advantage.

Working Environment:
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- The role requires flexibility, as hours may vary depending on hotel and spa operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The Onsen & Spa Manager will work closely with other department heads during the pre-opening phase to ensure a smooth and successful launch.
