Role Overview:
As a Raw Material Development Technologist, you will be instrumental in sourcing, developing, and qualifying raw materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborating across departments, you'll help secure the foundation for our innovative pet products while driving efficiency and quality.
Team: R&D
Business Unit: Rhodes Pet Science
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead raw material development in partnership with Product Development, Procurement, Quality, and Production teams to meet business objectives and timelines.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive raw material database and monitoring program, ensuring data accuracy and quality throughout shelf life.
- Coordinate raw material testing programs with internal and external laboratories.
- Collaborate with Procurement to qualify alternative suppliers for key raw materials, ensuring supply security and cost optimization.
- Work closely with the Regulatory team to confirm compliance with relevant export standards and requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Animal Science, or related fields.
- Experience: 2-3 years in research and development, ideally within a food or pet nutrition environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with AAFCO, FEDIAF, and DLD regulations.
- Language Skills: Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
