Function: Quality Assurance
The Senior Project Quality Engineer owns and drives the Quality Control (QC) initiative projects with Company suppliers. He has the ability to dig out the product high risk items from Design/Sample/Test/FAI and provide engineering support to project team.
The Senior PQE owns supplier manufacture process improvement and drive supplier to figure out critical quality issue timely. Beyond that, He could help supplier to set up/implement standard such as QMS ,EICC, VOC.
The Senior PQE able to competition the quality document issue from Customer /CM, handle the quality compliant and make specification alignment with different stakeholder independently. Continue to help Sales/PM to build up good relationship and efficient communication bridge
Key Accountabilities:
Supplier Quality Control
o Lead supplier evaluation, qualifications and trainings
o Lead supply base to pass Customer / CM QMS and EICC audit before NPI.
o Drive completion of DSV/ FAI with project schedule.
o Conduct quality specification alignment with supplier before MP.
o Drive the supplier to set up/implement dedicated standard such as QMS, EICC, VOC ..etc as needed
o Conduct core supplier annual QMS and EICC and make sure finding items closure.
o Conduct quarterly quality review with core suppliers including review of quality metrics ,quality performance and outstanding product quality complaints
o Identify supplier quality system risk and process control risk with various method and channels. To set up high risk control plan and drive supplier for continue improvement.
Brand Customer /CM Quality Engagement
o Able to competition the quality documents issued from Customer /CM independently (QMS, EICC，VOC )
o Work close with Sales/PM to anticipate the core requirements/expectations from customer. Set up dedicated plan to build up good reputation as always.
o Conducting plant-wide quality meetings including review of quality metrics and outstanding product quality complaints
o Conduct quality specification alignment with customer/CM before MP
o Support Sales/PM team for clients visit at both of supplier and ODM
Quality System Management
o Responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the quality database
o Management of change for related quality policies, procedures, specifications and methods
Quality Engineering
o Have the ability to identify supplier advantage/disadvantage to provide reasonable feedback to project team for supplier base selection.
o Authorizes and monitors the start-up of production at the supplier site.
o Work with project team to identify high risk items throughout whole manufacture process including quality and capacity.
o Product specification development and alignment with supplier and customer (customized specification)
Process Efficiency Improvement (Internal & External)
o Work with project team to focus on risk identification, risk prevention and risk reduction of quality, initiate improvement actions and coordinate feedback from suppliers, manufacturing, testing and the field, consult with design engineers in following best practice design guidelines
o Conduct supplier for quality system / process control risk improvement and verify effectiveness periodically.
o Support project team for facilitate discussions between manufacturing, applications, and R&D regarding product performance matters and quality related production issues
o Conduct DOE/6 sigma for data analysis
Cross functional team supporting (if have)
o To support CS team for supplier capacity assessment for NPI and MP.
o To support CS team for inventory tacking at supplier or VMI warehouse periodically.
o To support Sales/PM team for clients visit at both of supplier and ODM
o To support ME/PM team for sample verification or delivering to clients
o Act as a central point of contact on multiple projects for customers
o Responsible for customer on boarding, project timelines control, account management and facilitate the flow of information in all project phase.
o In coordination of all design, first article and production launch requirements. Assures appropriate Specification documentation, tracking, storage and revision control.
o Coordinates New product design scheduling and delivery
o Lead CFT members and suppliers to ensure COS to ODM on required inventory build, delivery service and quality level
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Bachelor of degree or above, major in packaging, mechanical.
- Minimum of 6 years of plant, business, and quality experience is preferred
- Ability to read designs drawing and technological datasheet
- Strong working knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, with respect to quality and reliability, and general manufacturing operations business management relative to all functional groups. Capable of managing any project for any commodity
- Be good at quality tools, SPC, MSA, Process Mapping, PFMEA, Control Plan, and 8D.
- Strong organization and accurate record keeping skills
- Strong technical and structured problem solving skills, design of experiment skills
- Strong problem solving and continuous improvement techniques
- Excellent problem solving and continuous improvement techniques
- Capable of developing quality management standards and auditing compliance to ISO standard 9001/14000, EICC,FSC.
- Certified Six Sigma BB preferred.
- Certified auditor preferred
- Middle English level both in writing and speaking (ITES 5.5 Level +) (Optional, if have Chinese proficiency is not necessary)
- Middle Chinese level in speaking (PREFERRED, or else has to speak good English)
Working Conditions: - Supplier setting
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours (early mornings, evenings, weekend days, holidays) and travel internationally as needed; High pressure resistance, willing to work 8 Hours or weekend as project needed
- Willing to travel 50% including international travel
