Senior Maintenance - Mechanical (New Plant Setup)
About the role:
Senior Maintenance - Mechanical Engineer to play a critical role in the setup of our new wire and cable manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong technical background to turn around old facility & manufacturing processes which are similar to new plant setup, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in new plant installations in mechanical knowledge
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Startup Activities:- Ensure equipment meets specifications and produces high-quality products; review machine manuals and collaborate with equipment owners.
- Lead installation, commissioning, inspections, and testing of mechanical equipment for compliance with standards.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) plans for wire and cable manufacturing.
- Train technicians on safe, efficient equipment operation and maintenance.
Startup and Commissioning:- Oversee mechanical engineering during startup and commissioning for smooth integration with production.
- Troubleshoot startup issues to reduce downtime and optimize performance.
- Monitor equipment daily to meet production and quality standards.
Post-Startup Maintenance:- Execute and uphold PM programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Address equipment issues promptly; track maintenance activities, parts inventory, and predictive maintenance data using digital tools.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Continuous Improvement:- Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging best practices and innovative technologies.
- Develop solutions to improve reliability, cut maintenance costs, and boost productivity.
- Keep current with industry trends and advancements in wire and cable manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in new machine setup, overhaul, or refurbishment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (licensed).
- Strong background in plant setup and commissioning with a focus on mechanical systems, machine design, and safety upgrades.
- Positive safety attitude, adherence to company policies, and timely reporting of accidents or hazards.
- Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, along with an energy-saving mindset.
