Job Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the production process in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all products are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Coordination:

  • Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer demands and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, quality control) to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation to meet production goals.

Team Management:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate production staff.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate team members to optimize productivity.
  • Maintain a safe and positive working environment, addressing any issues related to morale, performance, or behavior.

Quality Control & Process Improvement:

  • Ensure production meets quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing techniques, to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, or quality concerns in a timely manner.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Work closely with the procurement department to ensure timely delivery of materials for production.


Budget and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Monitor production costs and implement cost-cutting measures where appropriate without compromising product quality.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor production operations to identify and eliminate safety hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on production performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and any issues or risks.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments to align production goals with company objectives.

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:

  • Address and resolve any operational or technical problems that arise during the production process.
  • Propose solutions for improving workflow, equipment, or processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Min. 10 years of experience in production management, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and manufacturing technologies.
    • Proficiency in production planning software or ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
